Frequently Asked Questions

What is teeth whitening?

The process of teeth whitening involves the use of a bleaching agent which lightens and brightens the color of teeth, enamel, and dentine (the substance below enamel). Our dental formulated whitening agent creates an oxidation reaction which scrubs away stains and reveals a whiter smile.

What does the procedure involve?

Our friendly Billionaire Cosmetic Technician will arrive at your residence at the time of your scheduled appointment . After a quick briefing our technician will recline you in our provided whitening chairs for the procedure to begin. Our procedure involves applying whitening gel onto your teeth using our revolutionary Billionaire Whitening Pen. Our technician will then place a powerful cosmetic light over your teeth to begin the whitening process. Upon completion of your session, our technician will instruct you to rinse your mouth and brush your teeth (without toothpaste) to remove the gel.

How does teeth whitening work?

Powerful cosmetic lights are used to activate our billionaire whitening gel. The gel, as it starts to break down, will send oxygen into the enamel and dentine (components of teeth) which thereby removes stains and creates a pearly white appearance on the surface of the teeth.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Our dental peroxide-based gel is 100% safe and effective, and is ACCC, TGA, and FDA approved. We have a hygienic non-touch procedure at NO time will a technician touch you or your mouth. Our gel is gentle and safe, problems are extremely rare. Teeth Whitening is safe for crowns and veneers although these will not lighten as much as natural teeth.

What kind of results should I expect?

This depends on each individual and the extent of discoloration, generally from 5-14 shades lighter can be achieved. The more stained your teeth the more dramatic the result will be. Teeth whitening whether done by a dentist or another technician will not whiten your tooth enamel the process will bleach the stains on the surface of your teeth. The results are also relevant to how regularly you have a teeth whitening procedure or use home whitening treatments. Where whitening is done every 6-12 months it is considered a maintenance procedure and results will be less dramatic.

How long does the treatment take?
Each treatment can take up to 90 minutes
Who should get their teeth whitened?

Our teeth whitening procedure is a safe and effective choice for just about everybody, especially given the advancements in our dental technology. However, there are certain groups of people should not get their teeth whitened, such as:

  • Children under the age of 13
  • Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Those with Periodontal Disease or any of the following oral conditions:
    • Extremely sensitive teeth
    • Decayed or decaying teeth
    • Unhealthy or irritated gums
    • Exposed roots
    • Jaw issues
    • Recent oral surgery
  • People with certain health-related problems such as colitis or Crone’s Disease
What are the side effects of teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening procedures are typically safe when done properly. Still, some people do experience sensitivity during or after the process. This is considered normal and due to the nature of the procedure, which is why our whitening kits come with desensitizing agents. NOTE: Some people notice a whitening or sensitivity of the gums, but this is only temporary. Additionally, there are things you can do to reduce the sensitivity you experience, such as:

  • Rinsing your mouth out with warm water afterwards
  • Use only soft bristled toothbrushes
  • Skip meals that are hot, cold, or overly spicy
  • Use a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth

Keep in mind that, most of the time, tooth sensitivity will only last about 24 hours.

How long do teeth whitening results usually last?
Teeth will maintain their pearly white appearance for 6-12 months. This variation depends largely on lifestyle and diet. Smoking, tea, coffee, sodas, fruit juice, and all staining foods and beverages will eventually re-stain the surface of your teeth.
What happens to caps, crowns, veneers, and fillings during teeth whitening?

Unfortunately, teeth whitening will not change the color of any caps, crowns, fillings, or veneers. Modern whitening gel can only effect organic tooth enamel. However, excessive buildup and/or staining on the artificial restorations will be removed during the whitening process to reveal its original color.

Will this whiten stains caused by coffee and smoking?

Yes, our teeth whitening formula has been created to remove tooth discolouration caused by lifestyle habits such as drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. To maximise your results we recommend that you limit coffee consumption and smoking for at least 10 hours after each treatment.

Do these teeth whitening ingredients damage your enamel?

No, when used according your our instruction manual provided in the kit our ingredients are 100% safe and will not damage your enamel.

Can I whiten my teeth whilst pregnant?

Our teeth whitening formula has not been tested during pregnancy as we cannot recommend to whiten whilst pregnant, just to be safe.

Should teeth whitening be done by a Dentist?

Teeth whitening is purely cosmetic and non dental. The products we use are gentler than and just as effective as those used by the dentist. All our products are Australian compliant and produced to the highest standards. Teeth whitening, no matter who does it bleaches stains from the surface of the teeth it does not whiten enamel.
